SAS - Scandinavian Airlines has extensive domestic routes in Norway and flies to many European cities. Flights
from the US leave from New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington DC. Otherwise, connections through
partners in the Star Alliance.
Norwegian - Low cost carrier that flies from Norway to many European cities. They are expanding their low cost
carrier model to US and Asian cities.
Icelandair - Flies from North American cities, via Iceland, to Oslo, Bergen, trondheim and Stavanger.
KLM - Flies to Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger with Amsterdam as a hub.
British Airways - Flies into Oslo and Bergen with London as a hub.
Oslo Gardemoen Airport - Flight and airport information.
Flybussen - Airport bus to the center of town. Takes about 40 minutes.
Flytoget - High speed train to Oslo. Takes 20 minutes. More expensive, but more fun, than the bus.
*There is a duty free store in the arrivals area at the Oslo Airport. Prices for alcohol there are much
cheaper than otherwise in Norway, so it may be worth buying something to drink there to save expenses
during your stay.
NSB - Norwegian state railway line. Their trains to Oslo from the airport take about 5 minutes longer but are half
the price of the Flytoget.
SJ - Swedish state railway line. Sells Norway-Sweden rail tickets.
Hotel Ullensvang - Top choice on the Hardanger Fjord. Personal favorite.
Kviknes Hotel - Top choice on the Sogne Fjord. Convenient connections with the express boat to Bergen and
Choice Hotels - Hotel chain with a wide selection of hotels in Norway in different price categories. Their Clarion
Collection Hotel Havnekontoret is our top pick in Bergen.
Thon Hotels - Norwegian hotel chain with different price categories. Their Bristol Hotel in Oslo is a good choice.
Scandic Hotels - Scandinavian hotel chain.
Radisson Blu - First class hotel chain that is well represented in Norway.
Grand Hotel - One of the two top hotels in Oslo. Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize stays here.
Hotel Continental - The other top hotel in Oslo. One of the few large city hotels that are still family run and not part
of a chain.
