After a successful Norway Knitting Tour in 2017, Battenkill Fibers asked us to help organize a knitting tour of Denmark in
2019. Over 30 joined us on this tour and we traveled all over Denmark visiting top designers, seeing major sights and of
course making numerous stops at yarn stores.

We started with three nights in Copenhagen. During our time there we saw the major sights, had dinner in Tivoli
Gardens, a private lecture on knitting history at the University of Copenhagen and trunk shows before dinner at our
hotel. The highlight of our Copenhagen stay was a visit to Falster Island, where Danish designer Vivian Hoxbrø hosted us
for the day.

After Copenhagen we made our way to Fanø Island off the west coast of Denmark. Our host on Fanø was Danish knitting
star, Christel Seyfarth. After a presentation about her designs, Christel showed us around her island and we saw how
local traditions and the nature on the island influenced her designs.

From Fanø we traveled almost to the northernmost point in Denmark, Tversted, to attend a workshop taught by Helga
Isager. We had lunch at an old school that has been converted into a center for local craftsmen. Driving back to
Copenhagen, we managed to make a stop in Mariager to visit designer Hanne Falkenberg.

All the meals were included on this tour and we sampled many different types of local open faced sandwiches and
Danish pastry.
